Luis’ Journey to the Realization of his American Dream
Luis Hernández is a name that, although common, hides an extraordinary story of struggle, self-improvement and success.
When Luis arrived in the United States, he was still a child. He grew up and was educated here, considering this country his home.
He had obtained Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status as a teenager, which initially allowed him to work legally and live without the constant fear of deportation. However, like many legal protections, DACA is not permanent and requires periodic renewals.
